Leather coral.

This is my second reef system. I started this 65 gallon glass, flat-front tank in February of 2006. Its dimensions are 48x18x24". Most of the livestock came from my 45 gallon system that I had to dismantle because of a crack in the support bar.

Because I have clams and SPS corals in my system, I need sophisticated lighting, including metal halides and true actinics . I'm currently using a 48" wide Coralife Aqualight Pro lighting system suspended from the ceiling above my tank. Here's my current lighting schedule:

VHO Actinics ON: 9:00am
MH #1 ON: 10:00am
MH #2 ON: 10:30am
MH #1 OFF: 8:30pm
MH #2 OFF: 9:00pm
VHO Actinics OFF: 10:00pm

There is about 100 lbs. of live reef rock in the system brought over from my original tank. I'm using three powerheads to create current. I have a 50-gallon sump in the cabinet below the tank where I use activated carbon and a protein skimmer to keep the water clean.
